Everyone at DRFC is deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II.  On behalf of everyone at Devizes RFC we offer our thoughts and condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time

Club President Chris Jones said "We mourn the loss of the Queen; our Queen, she has been there for all of our lives.  She has been pivotal towards the stability of our country and the wider Commonwealth through thick and thin.  Her love of Sport was shown for Rugby by being Patron of Rugby Football for over 64 years.  We will all miss her and have fond memories of what she has done for this country and the Commonwealth."

Following Government and RFU guidance, Saturday's Regional 2 Tribute South Central match against Buckingham RFC will go ahead as planned for a 3pm kick off.  There will be a minutes silence observed for both Her Majesty the Queen and to a couple of local legends, Lawrence Bruce and Richard Drury who sadly passed away recently.

Mini's & Juniors training will take place on Sunday as planned. We will start the morning with everyone at the flagpole for 1030am for a minutes silence to remember Her Majesty.
RFU and Sport England makes it clear that there is no need to postpone unless organisers wish to. We will therefore respectfully and solemnly mark the occasion, and then carry on with our training plans.
